Yes you CAN DRINK on the Comal River (according to state law). And you CAN DRINK whatever you'd like - including, but not limited to, beer, wine, any other alcoholic beverage, juice, water, sports drinks, and even that stuff you found dripping from the ceiling above your kitchen if you want.

The "Can Ban" is back in affect. All items (food & drink) taken on the river must be in Non-disposable containers and coolers may not be over 16 qts in size. Click Here for examples. The following items can get you a ticket on the Comal river.

No Disposable Containers
No Double tubes on the Comal
No Glass
No Styrofoam
No containers 5oz or less (jello shots)
No jumping from bridges, dams, trees, or cliffs
Locking mechanism required on coolers
Noise devices may not be audible beyond 50ft
No volume drinking devices (example: beer bongs)
